Lately..A Bit Of Adventuring

The day after we got Pepper,
I left for Washington for a week.

It was not my brightest idea on how not to miss home...
I missed Tommy and Pepper.

But!
Adventures happened!

My best, little brother graduated from high school!!!!

!cheer, cheer, huzzah!

my older sister was able to come

&
my grandma and aunt and uncle and one of my cousins
was able to come

we got to spend time as our nuclear family all week!
&
we got to spend father's day with my daddy!

~ more pictures ~

It was a pretty big adventure.

We should have taken more pictures!

Things unfortunately undocumented:

~ My family tried out Insanity with me!
~ Leah has become an amazing swimmer!
we were able to go to her swim lesson,
she is so far the best "glen and juli white" family swimmer.
No pressure Leah...
~ We had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory!
~ We found an awesome parking spot and fought for our right. to paaaaaaaaaark.
~ We had our first black bean burgers!
~ Specks took a venture upstairs and cat napped in the sunshine!
~ Aubrey ran really fast!
~ We ate a lot of chocolates from Aubrey's work!
~ We watched home videos!
~ I met my nephew Miles and got to spend time with my steinkuhler sisters!
~ I was given the grand tour of Windy's new bachlorette-pad! (is that a thing?)
Complete with italian soda!
~ My daddy wrote a blog post for me about what he's been up to!
It was fantastic and so sweet of him.
~ Aubrey crossed the border and camped out in the rain!

~ and lots of other cool things ~

~ Like how we all watched the Iron Giant and it kind of made me cry a little bit...

...you'd cry too. It was really good.

*old post* "Call Me INSANE But...."

I am on week #5 of "Insanity".
Are you ready for this?

Head Hancho Shaun T is always telling me to "dig deeper"
and I've been paying attention.
Reading between the lines.
There's Grey's Anatomy drama going on during these sweat fests.

Ok.
Do you remember how I was whining
about the crazy chick on the workout videos
who was TOO ecstatic to be
working out all the time
?

This is her:

Tanya.

She wants Shaun T's babies.
[pardon my bluntness]

Even though everyone in the "chorus" [shaun t's peeps]
rotates through the dvd's
she is in EVERY SINGLE ONE.

And, in every single workout,
she smiles .
the whole time.

And she loves it when Shawn T comes over during the workout
and all his attention is on her.

"Let's go over to Tanya" -shawn t
"Perfect form! If your form isn't like this you're doing something wrong." - shawn t

She's his favorite.
And she loves that.

She's got her picture on the dvd case.

TWICE.

oh! Whose in the middle? It's Tanya! Yay!

----

That was the first month of Insanity.

AKA

"The Reign of the Tanyanator"

----

....then came the drama.

Ariel.

Shawn T calls her "Ari-elle"
Like how sebastian pronounce "Ariel" in The Little Mermaid.

It makes her sound exotic.

Shawn T has been going over Ari-elle first during workouts.

she's got pretty sweet abs.

see?
Shawn T likes her abs too.

"perfect form" -shawn t

I decided to research this Ari-elle.
And there she was.
She has her own cover shot in the DVD case too.

These girls are professionals.
They'd never get catty over being Shawn T's current favorite.

But I've seen the glances.

They're eying the competition.

Oh yeah.
Insanity is getting Dramatic.

It's almost worth working out just to watch the subtle irks when Shawn T walks from girl to girl.

Ok just kidding.
I just want Ari-elle abs.
Dang girl.

Now this is Tanya's "Monkey Face" as I like to call it.
This is how she breathes.
all. the. time.

...it was in getting this monkey-face documentation
that Tommy noticed even bigger drama.

Do you see it?

RING CHECK.

what?!

& the plot thickens....

For kicks and giggles:

This chick is Tommy's favorite on Insanity:

She's older than everyone else, yet she has the most endurance.
She just hangs out in the back being awesome and hardly ever seems phased.

I also love her because she makes up her own alterations to some of the more extreme moves that are hard on the knees.

I love it when people know their bodies and take care of themselves when they work out!
She's a great example.

I didn't catch a picture of my favorite chick. Sorry : (

She's my favorite because she pushes hard
and when Shawn T comes over and asks how she feels
she says "I feel like %$*#."

Honesty.
I like that.

Insanity power on!

Pictures...or in other words

A post I forgot to post.

Hey guys, in January of this year Tommy and I moved into this apartment!
Isn't it cute.

awesome morning hair.
my nerd : )

Note the amazing pan rack that my lover built!

Windy delivery!

caps. whip. name. key. sling shots.

Christmas present from Becca!
I can reach every thing.
my gnarly water burn
after it was actually gnarly
and before it disappeared.

Gold Gold Gold

I've only been waiting for my 23rd birthday
ever since Shelley Mauss told me about
The Golden.

The birthday that falls on the same number of years lived.

Example:  This May 23rd, 2012 I turned 23 years old.

GOLDEN!!

So since by now it's been almost two months since that great and glorious day.
I thought I'd post pictures. Gracious me.

Karaoke? Yes.

*Honey Funny story about this one*

In other news....
Tommy and I decided to take our mattress out of our bedroom
and camp out in the living room.
I'm 23 guys!

These gems of photographs are my adorable husband putting the mattress back
"the easy way!"

and this is his scramble to escape once he realized I was documenting his genius:

hahaha too late suckah!!!

I have the best husband.

Thank you for all of the gifts, cards, and well wishes! I love you all!

Lots of Thoughts Rampaging

I have a day off from work today
because my charge is on a trip out of the state for the day....
and I've got a lot of time to have a lot of thoughts.

1. It's not really fair that Miley Cyrus is going to marry her whose-it boyfriend
because then she gets to have Thanksgiving with Thor.

Thor!

2. After seeing The Avengers I have become sincerely disturbed by the very likely truth
that those actors aren't really like the super heroes they portray.
They were all just so awesome,
my hopes are really high up there for their true characters!
so now
if they ever show up on the news portraying less than super actions....
don't tell me.

Super Heroes live on!

3. I have been sneaking around my house, avoiding eye contact with my
Insanity DVD's.
The second month started where everything is supposed to be more difficult
and guess what
it's also longer.

Nobody told me that!

Now it's a full hour of extra hard stuff and I gotta tell you
the idea of an entire hour of super hard stuff is not beautiful from your bed
when you first wake up in the morning.

I've been lazy at least every other day
and now that I have a day off from work,
it's staring at me.

And all I can think of is how much I want to be eating apple pie right now.
Chocolate cookies sound really great too.

See here's the thing:

4. I don't eat before I exercise.
Because that would be asking for a world of hurt.
But when I just sit here putting it off,

I get hungry, guys.

First it's for normal things, like breakfast.
Then, it's for pudding,
milkshakes,
pie.

My stomach knows where it's at.

Ahh...I think I might just go running or something.

5. Tommy and I met when he was 19 and I was 18.
Lately I've been wondering (more than usual)
what it would be like to meet him for the first time at various stages in our lives.

I've thought about what it would have been like to meet him younger,
go to the same high school etc.
I've decided that would have been less fun over all.

But recently I've been thinking about how things would have gone
had I met him when we were older.

There are so many things that change us throughout our lives
if we had met when we were in our 30's
would we like each other?
Would we want to be friends?
Or would we have changed and become really different
in lives where we didn't know each other for years and years.

I am fascinated by the thought and I kind of wish I could time travel.

I just want to take peeks and see what the Tommy without Carly
would be like at 20, 25, 35, 57...

I am less interested to see what the Carly without Tommy would be like
cause let's be honest.
That sounds awful.

Still it's intriguing.

I know that when Tommy and I met at 19 and 18,
God had a hand (or two) in it.

Many things went into motion that weren't even in our immediate control
and after everything was added up and settled down,
we were in the same place at the same time,
and it was a very good change for my life, and his.

I'm forever grateful we met when we did,
and I'm grateful we had to go through a bunch of changes
before and after we met
so that we could be ready for each other.

And yet, that curiosity gets to me.
I wonder if God has a peek-o-scope in heaven
to view different potential realities.

Awesome!

6. I'm plotting some things right now...
"I'm working with some very unstable heeerbs..."
and no place is safe.
because the giant actually occasionally reads this bit of the internet.
but it's killing me not to be able to talk to him about my ideas!
keeping secrets from your hubby is really hard.
My tongue is red from all the biting.

7. I have become a fan of Dragon Ball.
There.
I said it.
The boy I nanny watches it daily and I really look forward to it!

8. I need ideas for what I should be for Halloween.
Begin.

9. The giant and I are going to see  Bill Cosby  tonight!!!!!

I know.
It's mind blowing.

10.  now i'm really hungry.
